THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

It is the client’s responsibility to let me know if you have had Permanent Makeup done by someone else prior to scheduling.
If you have had Permanent Makeup previously done and fail to tell me, I reserve the right to refuse service and may recommend removal. This will forfeit your booking fee for the lost appointment time.
Hair-strokes/microblading will NOT work over previously tattooed eyebrows, but we may be able to work with existing work as long as it is light or faded enough. Photos are required prior to booking an appointment if this is the case.

IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING YOU CANNOT HAVE PERMANENT MAKEUP DONE DURING THAT TIME. Its suggested to wait 1-2 months so hormones level back out. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Please book your Permanent Makeup procedure AFTER any vacations or special events you may have coming up. There is healing time involved. If you know you have a special event in the furture make sure you have made your appointment at least 2 full months in advance to be healed.

IF YOU USE BOTOX, IT SHOULD BE PERFORMED EITHER 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PROCEDURE OR 2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE.

IF YOU GET FILLERS, THEY SHOULD BE DONE 6 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PROCEDURE OR DONE 6 WEEKS AFTER THE PROCEDURE.

Some residual swelling is normal for ALL procedures. Some clients may have no swelling some may have a lot…this is individualized. You can apply ice to the treated area if necessary. Dry skin, itching and tenderness are common after the procedure. These symptoms will dissipate each day and vary on an individual basis. Color will fade/soften up to 30% or more. The followup will enhance any area that has faded too much, healing is specific to each client. It is important to realize that you will need a color boost every 1-2 years to maintain it’s fresh natural appearance.

If you are out in the sun a lot, have oily skin, use anti-aging creams, Retinol products, natural elements, regular chemical peels, or exercise frequently, you will probably need a color boost every 6 months to 1 year. The better you take care of the treated area, the longer it will last.

General Rules for ALL Procedures:
Remember, no two sides of the face are the same. Perfection is our goal, but, note that nothing is PERFECT. I do not use the “P” word when doing Permanent Makeup. Sisters, NOT twins is used universally in this field.

Absolutely No Sun, sweating, or tanning prior to the procedure or after the procedure for 10 days. Do not have a tan/sunburn on your face prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate taking color with it as it fades. If you show up to your appointment with a sunburn, you will be required to reschedule and your booking fee will be forfeited.

Do not work out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first 10 days after the procedure. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.

Avoid direct shower water when washing the face on the treated area after the procedure. Absolutely NOTHING on the treated area.. no makeup, lotions, pencil…etc. for 10 days or until all flaking has fallen away. After treatment blot any body fluids away with a clean tissue or paper towel for the first day and start after care. Avoid scrubbing the treated area for 1 month.

Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure. Tylenol is fine.

Avoid sleeping on your face during the 1st 10 days after the procedure.

You MUST be off Retin-A or Retinols for 7 days prior to your appointment and avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after. If used before 30 days, it can cause the pigments to fade prematurely. If you resume the Retin-A or Retinols after the 30 days, please know that the continued use will fade your permanent makeup prematurely.

You must be off of "lattisse" or any hair growing serum for minimum of 3-6 months, no exceptions.

You have to be off Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!

If you have oily skin, your results WILL appear softer in appearance and may require additional procedures.

Dark Skin types please note that your permanent makeup will not appear as bold as lighter skin types. (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.)

Avoid alcohol or caffeine prior to the procedure, this will minimize any oozing or swelling after the procedure.

Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make you hyper-sensitive at the procedure site.

If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin of any kind, moles or other skin imperfections in or around the area of the procedure, I WILL NOT be able to do the procedure until the blemish or area of concern is gone or the mole is removed and healed. We can however, work around moles.

No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water/chlorine can cause the pigments to fade or change in color. It is recommended to apply the Vaseline to the treated area/s prior to swimming even after healed to prevent the chlorine water/salt water from penetrating the area.

Only touch the treated areas with squeaky clean hands.

DO NOT RUB, SCRATCH OR PICK AT THE TREATED AREA. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.

Plan on scheduling your followup within the first 2 months.

Eyebrows
Come to your appointment with your eyebrows penciled the way you like them (optional) if you like & bring your eyebrow pencil with you. Or you can bring pictures of eyebrows you like to reference shape and thickness.

If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have this done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure. It is recommended to wait at least a week to have them waxed after the procedure. I prefer a grown out brow if possible to utilize as much natural hair as possible with shape and design.

Regular makeup can be worn immediately after your procedure, just not on the treated area until healed. Absolutely NOTHING on the brows..no makeup, lotions, pencil…etc. for 10 days…. After the 10 days, you can use a gentle cleanser to clean them. Avoid scrubbing them for 1 month.

The eyebrows WILL appear bolder immediately after the procedure..this is common in all Permanent Makeup applications…it will begin to soften up after a few days. Hair strokes appear crisp and bold at first, but will soften up as the tissue heals.

It is very common to have areas fade more so than others. This is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended touch up appointment. Previously done eyebrows may take 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired result. Scar tissue in the brow area of eyebrows done multiple times WILL require additional procedures and fees will apply.

Clients with darker skin (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.), Please know that the Hair Strokes and Eye Liners WILL NOT appear as defined or as dark as lighter skin types due to the skin color already being naturally darker.

EYEBROWS- Typical Effects
Day1-2 The eyebrows are approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.
Day3 Eyebrows will start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. Natural exfoliation begins., do not exfoliate yourself.
Day4 The skin begins to flake- peeling from the outside edges first.

Eyeliner
If you have had any eye surgery, i.e.; Lasix….Cornea..Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty…..Lens repair….. etc. you will need to wait at least 6 months before I will do permanent makeup on your eyes and a Dr.’s note may be requested. If you have tear duct plugs, I do not do the liner procedure.

IF USING AN EYELASH GROWTH SERUM (i.e. Latisse)  YOU MUST DISCONTINUE USE 3-6 MONTHS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE AND CAN NOT USE UNTIL 2 WEEKS AFTER PROCEDURE.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM ME OF ANY EYE SURGERIES YOU HAVE HAD OR EYE CONDITIONS YOU CURRENTLY HAVE AS THIS WILL DETERMINE IF YOU ARE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LINER.

If you have hyper-sensitive eyes, watery eyes, tear duct plugs or severe allergies, refractive eye surgery etc..this may not be the procedure for you… our eyes produce saline-salt water and this will cause the area treated to fade or not take at all.

Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment, bring your glasses

You cannot have eyelash extensions on at the time of your procedure, I will not do it for you.

Come with your eyeliner on if you like to show me how you want it otherwise come with no eye makeup on. No mascara.

Clean contacts can be worn 72 hrs after the procedure. You cannot use Saline to wet the eyes. Only Sterile Water…check that the wash is NOT SALINE..it will fade the liner out instantly.

No mascara for 72 hrs after the procedure, you can tip the lashes with the mascara, do not take it all the way to the skin until 10 days after the procedure.

It is recommended to buy a new tube of mascara to use after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.

DO NOT USE oily makeup remover, baby oil, mineral oil or heavy creams, especially glycolics around the eyes.

Only use Aquaphor for 10 days, or as needed. DO NOT USE TOO MUCH ON THE LINER AS IT CAN IRRITATE YOUR EYES, IN THIS CASE, MORE IS NOT BETTER.

Eyeliner can and will have some residual pigment that may peel or flake off after a couple days(in most cases)..that is ok..eyeliner tends to fade more so than brows due to the moisture in the eye area. After the touch up the color stays better and lasts longer…. Eyeliner will take 2-3 procedures!
EYELINER- Typical Effects
Day1 Swollen like you’ve been crying, with a heavier eye makeup look.
Day2 Swollen, usually for only a few hours after waking up, with the heavier eye makeup look continuing.
Day3 Swelling decreases with a tight feeling. The pigments begin to lift away from the skin.
Day4 There is a “pinching” feeling. Some itching is normal as the skin begins to flake. DO NOT PICK AT IT.
Day5 Blinking movements of the eye usually removes all pigment by this day. Color is somewhat grayish and will take a few more days to clarify to full color.

Lips
Be careful as you pull on shirts or other garments over your face that you don’t brush the new tattoo accidentally. Also, don’t put any makeup on, particularly just after treatment. You might cause an infection or otherwise damage the tattoo. In the case of food, it may be challenging for a while to eat with tattooed lips, but it can be done. Avoid biting or licking your lips as much as possible, and make sure no food or drink stays on there.

Aftercare: Avoid Contact with Clothing, Makeup, Food and Sunlight. Take care not to expose your face to the sun for about two weeks after you get your tattoo. The sun will fade the pigment, which is still settling into your skin. Even after the tattoos have healed, be consistent with applying sunscreen to those areas of your face, to avoid fading. Lips can take 1-3 treatments for desired depth of color.

Very Important: If you get cold sores or have ever had one in the past, you will need an antiviral prescription (Valtrex) from your doctor before a lip procedure. Physicians usually instruct to take it 2-3 days before. As this procedure will bring out the virus if not medicated beforehand.

LIPS- Typical Effects
Day1 Swelling, tender, heavy thick lipstick look with a reddish brick color affect.
Day2 Slight swelling, reddish and tender with a slight metallic flavor.
Day3 Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation with an orange color affect.
Day4 Exfoliation begins, very chapped lips.
Day5 Very chapped but almost finished with first chapping stage.
Day6 A soft rich color begins to appear.
Days7-13 Lip color disappears and the “frosty” chapping stage begins as a whitish/grayish haze on the lips.
Day14 Color blooms from within more and more each day until day 21.
Day21 Healing complete; the color you see is the color you have. Your lips will remain a bit dry for a month or two, use a good lip balm and they will return to normal, but with full color!
